I’ll let the music speak for itself but all I can say is I wouldn’t support something if I didn’t think it was worthy of spreading to others. This is a LEGIT piece of work ALL the way through. The production is crazy…the features are amazing. Open up your mind and heart to what Yancy Deron has to offer. He’s going places very soon.
Feel It All AroundThis song always reminds me of living in Long Beach, summers and having a good time with friends. Atlanta songwriter and producer Ernest Greene, a.k.a. Washed Out, created the one-man band after graduating from college and started producing songs in his bedroom studio. His music has been categorized as chillwave which heavily uses synthesizing, loops, sampling, effects processing, filtered vocals and simple melodic lyrics. “Feel It All Around”, from his Life Of Leisure album, was one of his first singles to be released and helped him to be seen at growing events such as the Pitchfork Music Festival. I remember hearing this for the first time and feeling kind of lost in it…in a good way. There’s a trance it puts you in, like everything is in slow motion. It feels calming and peaceful in a way you don’t always experience music.
Enjoy The SunSummer is here, grills are fired up and everybody is sure feeling the heat. Making a cohesive and melodic duo, Theophilus London and Jesse Boykins III collab on a record from the Paris 96 mixtape compiled by GFCnewyork’s Steve-O. Over the years, both London and Boykins have created musical art individually and together that many people may have overlooked, but this mixtape shines a light on some of their best collaborations. Unique in their own right, both artists display their styles of music with touches of R&B, Hip Hop and a little taste of some Dancehall. “Enjoy The Sun” definitely captures that feel good vibe when you’re around friends and family, whether you’re at a kick back, a weekend BBQ or just relaxing on a Sunday like I am at the moment. Just remember to take everything in and enjoy the people, the summer, the breeze and especially the sun.

Bohemian GroveIf you’re not familiar with Ab-Soul, get to know who he is. The newest up and coming member of the Top Dawg Entertainment camp and Hip Hop group, Black Hippy, is making waves with his newly released album, Control System. Most people know his fellow camp member pretty well; does Kendrick Lamar ring a bell? To me, Ab-Soul is part of a new generation and style of conscious rappers making their mark in the music world with substance. It’s a bit of a different sound from artists like Common, Mos Def and Talib Kweli, but he still tries to portray the same message to a young crowd…alongside the mention of hoes, weed and other extracurricular activities here and there.
If you’re in the L.A. area on the night of June 15th, come out to the Yancy Deron x Ab-Soul show at the Key Club. Up and coming artist and LNDLien, Yancy Deron, will be opening up for TDE’s Ab-Soul. It will be the LIVEST show you will ever see. Tell your friends, your cousins, your grandma, your neighbors, etc. to come out and vibe with us and have a good time.
